Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy has said the club's home form could be the key to whether they reach the League Two play-offs in May.The Shrimps have won eight and drawn five of their 16 league games at Christie Park, including back-to-back wins against Darlington and Burton.

"We've done very well at home," McIlroy told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"We've got some difficult games, especially away from home, so our home form might just get us there."

McIlroy has been forced to rotate his squad in recent weeks with a number of players missing through injury.

I'd just love a full-strength squad and it'd be hard for me to pick a starting XI

But the Morecambe boss was boosted in midweek with captain Jim Bentley and striker Manny Panther both starting against Bury, while long-term absentee Fraser McLachlan earned a place on the substitutes bench.

"It was great having Fraser back," said McIlroy. "I didn't want to throw him on against Bury but because he's battling back to fitness I thought I'd bring him in with the squad.

"But there's a number of players who've been patient waiting for their chance.

"I'd just love a full-strength squad and it'd be hard for me to pick a starting XI."
