The Colchester winger has joined on a month's loan and is in line to make his debut against the Mariners as Morecambe bid to reignite their play-off hopes.
Morecambe have completed the signing of Colchester winger Simon Hackney on a month's loan.Hackney, 26, joined the U's from Carlisle United in January 2009 and has made 13 league appearances for the club this season.
The 26-year-old has made 35 appearances for the U's since joining from Carlisle last year, but has not featured since the 7-0 FA Cup defeat by Preston in January.
The Shrimps, who had beaten Bournemouth 5-0 before Christmas, stepped up the pressure in the closing stages, with Paul Mullen hitting the outside of the upright, but that was their only meaningful effort.
Robinson grabbed the only goal of Saturday's League Two clash at Dean Court in the 18th minute, firing a rasping right-footed shot past Shrimps goalkeeper Barry Roche after Steve Fletcher had flicked on Lee Bradbury's long throw.
