New Morecambe recruit Scott Brown admitted his goalscoring debut against Chesterfield was tinged with disappointment after his side failed to hold on for all three points. The former Bristol City midfielder, who signed a short-term contract last week after impressing in the reserves, opened the scoring before the Spireites hit back to claim a 1-1 draw. Brown said: "It was great to score but I'm disappointed we didn't hold on and win the game. "I was really pleased to be given the nod to play and I thought we were superb in the first half and could have added another goal. But the second half saw Chesterfield come back and put us under a lot of pressure and unfortunately we couldn't hold on."
