Morecambe V Exeter at Globe Arena - Match Preview

Mixed fortunes for Shrimps

Morecambe have received mixed injury news ahead of the visit of Exeter.

Left-back Robbie Threlfall (thigh) and midfielder Andy Wright (knock) are expected to return to contention to boost boss Jim Bentley's squad as the Shrimps look to move within four points of seventh-placed Exeter with victory.

However, midfielder Andy Fleming is unlikely to be ready as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury while defender Dan Parkinson also misses out due to a knock.

Bentley has plenty to ponder as he considers sending out an unchanged side from the one which defeated York 4-1 at Bootham Crescent last weekend, although Jack Redshaw is pushing for a start having stepped off the bench to net a late brace.

Winger Izak Reid this week left the club by mutual consent and so will not be involved.

Exeter will be without midfielder Matt Oakley after he sustained a thigh injury in the 0-0 draw with Aldershot on Saturday.

The 35-year-old, who has started all but two of City's npower League Two matches this season, is set to be sidelined for a month and manager Paul Tisdale knows what a loss the former Leicester man will be.

"He has been very energetic and mobile for a senior player and he has probably surprised himself with how fit he has been," he said. "It will be a loss for us but we have got some good players like Tommy Doherty and Arron Davies who can play in midfield, so it is just one of those things."

Tisdale will be without striker John O'Flynn (hamstring) for another couple of weeks while Liam Sercombe (broken ankle) is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Morecambe ran out 3-0 winners when the teams met at St James Park on the opening day of the season.
