Morecambe V Gillingham at Globe Arena - Match Preview

Ellison missing for Morecambe

Morecambe will be without talisman Kevin Ellison when they entertain npower League Two leaders Gillingham.

Experienced forward Ellison, who fired a spectacular 12th goal of the season during the 3-0 win over Rochdale early this month - a triumph that co-incided with him penning an extended contract at the Globe Arena - collected his 10th booking this term during Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Northampton and must now begin a two-match ban.

Goalkeeper Barry Roche is set to return in place of Andreas Arestidou having served a one-match suspension of his own due to a red card in last weekend's 4-1 loss at Barnet.

Elsewhere, defender Andy Parrish remains on the sidelines as he continues to struggle with a troublesome thigh complaint.

Myles Weston remains unavailable for Gillingham but Charlie Allen could be involved.

Forward Weston has missed the last four matches with an ankle injury and will continue to remain sidelined as the Gills travel to the Globe Arena looking to further stretch their five-point advantage at the summit of League Two.

Allen has not featured in the last six matches due to his wrist problem but he will hope to get the all-clear ahead of the weekend.

Fellow midfielder Andy Frampton made his welcome return to Martin Allen's matchday 18 for Tuesday's goalless draw at Exeter.

Frampton, who sustained a worrying head injury last month, played the last 30 minutes against the Grecians and could now be pushing to start this weekend.
