Morecambe V Northampton at Globe Arena - Match Preview

Roche absent for Shrimps

Barry Roche must serve a one-match ban when Morecambe look to return to winning ways against Northampton.

The Shrimps' recent impressive form was checked when struggling Barnet ran out 4-1 winners at Underhill on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Roche was sent off for a professional foul on Luke Gambin before Daniel Lopez dispatched his second goal of the game to make it 3-1 from 1-0 down.

Andreas Arestidou is once again set to deputise for Roche, as he did earlier in the season when his team-mate was struck down by back problems.

Andy Parrish remained out with the thigh injury that has sidelined him in recent weeks and the defender will be assessed once more before Aidy Boothroyd's men arrive at the Globe Arena.

Northampton have no new worries. Leading scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa was rested against Aldershot on Saturday, withdrawn from the starting line-up due to a minor hip problem that has hampered him recently.

The 17-goal striker was on the bench for the 2-0 home win, coming on as a substitute midway through the second half.

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd will decide on what the best course of action is regarding Akinfenwa for the game at the Globe Arena.

Chris Hackett is another important player who has been rested recently, but the midfielder marked his return to the starting XI with the opening goal against the Shots.

As well as Akinfenwa, Boothroyd has fellow forward Jake Robinson, midfielder Luke Guttridge and defenders John Johnson and Lee Collins available should he wish to make any changes to his team on Tuesday night.
