Morecambe V Rochdale at Globe Arena - Match Preview

Redshaw back for Morecambe

Jack Redshaw is set to boost Jim Bentley's options up-front when Morecambe host his old club Rochdale in the first round of the FA Cup.

Redshaw came back to haunt his former employers last month when he bagged a brace in a 2-1 victory at Spotland.

An unspecified knock ruled him out of last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Torquay, where fellow striker Lewis Alessandra returned from a hamstring problem.

Bentley's attacking hand is further strengthened by the return of Kevin Ellison from a one-match suspension for collecting five yellow cards, although striker Richard Brodie must serve the third and final game of his own ban.

Wigan loanee Jordan Mustoe has been made unavailable by his parent club, paving the way for full-back Robbie Threlfall to return following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

Welsh midfielder Ryan Williams is still unable to make his Morecambe debut due to ongoing delays with international clearance.

Rochdale boss John Coleman has no new injury worries but faces a decision over penalty duties.

Ashley Grimes failed from the spot in the goalless draw against Fleetwood last time out, while Bobby Grant also fluffed his lines from 12 yards the previous weekend.

Fellow forward Craig Curran is hoping for his first action since receiving a straight red card before last month's penalty shootout loss to local rivals Bury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Curran completed his three-match ban in time to face Fleetwood and was understood to be fully fit, but Coleman elected to omit him from his matchday 18.

Midfielder Ray Putterill is still at least a week away from returning to training following his groin injury, while Reece Gray (broken leg) and goalkeeper Matt Edwards (knee) remain on the sidelines.
