Morecambe V Rochdale at Globe Arena - Match Preview

Look Hughes back for Shrimps

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley will have captain Mark Hughes back from suspension for the visit of fellow promotion hopefuls Rochdale.

Hughes missed last weekend's heavy FA Cup defeat by Southend after picking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign in the previous match.

Last season's top goalscorer Jack Redshaw suffered a setback after making his comeback from a hip injury as a substitute at Burton but should feature against Keith Hill's side.

Defender Chris Doyle made his return from a knee problem on the bench in the cup and is in contention to start.

Rochdale defender Javal Vidal is doubtful after sustaining an injury in midweek.

Vidal was forced off following a heavy challenge in Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Chesterfield and was replaced by Michael Rose, who could return to the starting line-up.

Striker George Donnelly is still struggling with the ankle injury that has kept him out of the last three matches, while defender Joe Rafferty and midfielder Matty Lund are among those pushing for recalls.

Skipper Peter Cavanagh (Achilles) played 90 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly, but remains four weeks away from a return as Dale look to avoid a third straight league defeat.
