Morecambe V York at Globe Arena - Match Preview

Shrimpers duo banned

Andrew Wright and Andy Fleming will both serve suspensions when Morecambe try to end their slump in form at home to York.

After flirting with the automatic promotion places earlier in the campaign, a run of just one win in six has seen the Shrimps slip down to the mid-table prior to the Minstermen's visit to the Globe Arena and midfielders Wright and Fleming will sit out one-game bans after picking up five cautions this campaign.

The duo's absence could open the door for the likes of Marcus Marshall and Alex Kenyon to press their claims for regular starting spots in Jim Bentley's starting XI.

Striker Jack Redshaw continues to be eased back into action following a summer hip operation but Bentley is unlikely to thrust last season's top scorer in from the start just yet.

York will be without suspended striker Ryan Bowman and injured defender Dan Parslow.

Bowman was shown a straight red card for a late lunge during Saturday's defeat at Southend and faces a four-game ban for his second dismissal of the season, while Parslow was stretchered off with a knee injury.

Defender Chris Smith remains sidelined with the ankle injury that ruled him out on Saturday and goalkeeper Michael Ingham is still troubled by a hip injury, so Nick Pope, on loan from Charlton, is poised to make his home debut.

Central defender Keith Lowe, another loanee in line for his first home appearance for the club, is likely to partner Dave McGurk at the heart of defence.
