Joy of six for Shots

Guy Madjo's solo strike helped Aldershot set a club record of six successive Football League victories as Morecambe were put to the sword at the Recreation Ground.

The striker's 26th-minute header, his third goal in two games, was enough for the Shots to leapfrog the Shrimps into 12th place, despite having Troy Brown sent off in the dying minutes.

It was Danny Hylton who looked most likely to open the scoring for the home side, firing wide before a long-range effort had Morecambe goalkeeper Barry Roche scrambling to keep it out.

But Madjo showed his strike partner how it was done as he nodded home an Aaron Morris cross from the right.

Five minutes later Morecambe came close to levelling but Josh Payne cleared Stewart Drummond's strike off the line.

After the interval the Shrimps failed to create any clear-cut chances as the game petered out.

Aldershot won six straight games for the first time in their history despite having Brown dismissed for a two-footed tackle on Danny Carlton in injury time.
