Barnet were held to a 1-1 draw by Morecambe at Underhill.

The Bees were without their central defenders Mark Arber and Greg Heald and also their left-back Lee Flynn.

It was Morecambe who opened brightly forcing a corner in the first minute of the game but the Bees goalkeeper Lee Harrison was fouled.

After 15 minutes Lee Elam opened the scoring for the visitors. His right-foot shot from 20 yards was parried by Harrison and Elam was first to react and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper's outstretched body.

For Barnet Junior Agogo had a right-foot shot blocked by Craig Mawson and moments later the same player had a header saved by the keeper.

At the other end Wayne Curtis' header was cleared off the line by Lee Pluck.

After 31 minutes John Doolan, captain for the day had a right-foot 35-yard drive that beat Morecambe keeper Mawson to make the score 1-1.

Towards the end of the half Wayne Purser had two left-foot shots saved by the visiting keeper.

In the second half Barnet forced only their second corner of the game when Mark Gower-s right-foot outswinger was hit on the volley by Ben Strevens but blocked by the defenders.

On the hour Stewart Drummond had a 30-yarder that hit the bar and moments later Curtis limped off the field and was replaced by Perry Taylor.

Morecambe seemed happy to settle for the point, while Barnet had further opportunities to get a winner when Agogo, Gower and Doolan all went close
