Morecambe 1-1 Hereford- Match Report

Last updated : 25 April 2011 By DSG

Hereford remain in danger of being relegated from the Football League despite a 1-1 draw at Morecambe.

The Bulls took the lead after Steve Leslie struck three minutes before half-time, but Morecambe were not to be denied and Will Haining snatched a point.

The draw leaves Morecambe six points ahead of second-bottom Barnet with two games remaining, while Hereford are just three points better off than the Bees.

Leslie struck with a right-foot shot from the edge of the area that beat goalkeeper Barry Roche to his right-hand side.

The goal came just as the Shrimps were enjoying their best period of the game, with Phil Jevons and Danny Carlton both going close and Stewart Drummond forcing Adam Bartlett into a good save from a close-range header.

Jevons and Nile Cowperthwaite forced superb saves from Bartlett before the Shrimps levelled after 71 minutes. Scott Brown crossed from the left and Haining fired a right-foot shot past Bartlett.
