A last minute goal from Adriano Rigoglioso gave Morecambe a share of the spoils in this top-of-the-table Conference clash.

An 89th minute Dave McKearney ball into the area was not dealt with by the Chester defence and Rigoglioso turned sharply to hit a left foot shot past Wayne Brown which creeps into the goal off the bottom of the left hand post.

It was a vital strike for Jim Harvey's side but a real sickener for Chester who had taken the lead on 66 minutes through substitute Michael Twiss.

The striker, who had only been on the field for eight minutes after replacing the ineffective Ryan Sugden, reacted sharply in the penalty box to Daryl Clare's cross and fired a left foot shot past Craig Mawson.

After he struck Morecambe changed their tactics as they pushed forward for an equaliser.

They stepped up the pace considerably with David Perkins shooting wide from distance and Michael Stringfellow seeing a volley cleared off the line by the excellent Bolland before Garry Thompson blasted over from a good opportunity on 74 minutes.

Top scorer Wayne Curtis also came close with a shot six minutes from time that Brown did well to hold on to before the Shrimps finally got their reward in the dying moments.

While the game ended at a terrific pace chances were few and far between for the opening hour.

Chester had the first opening on just three minutes when the prolific Clare volleyed over from the edge of the box before Ben Davies curled a free kick straight at Craig Mawson.

Morecambe created few chances with Rigoglioso curling a free kick wide on 22 minutes and Thomson heading goalwards only to be denied by a good Scott Guyett header.

The home team started the second half brightly with Robbie Talbot volleying over from McKearney's chip and forcing Bolland into a great tackle on 55 minutes.

Only then did the game come to life with both sides having to settle for a single point.
